General Terms of Sale
1. Order Acceptance and Contract Formation
All sales orders submitted through this website are invitations to treat and subject to acceptance by Commune. A legally binding contract is only formed once your order has been dispatched. Until such time, Commune reserves the right to reject or cancel and Sales Order for any reason, including but not limited to technical errors, pricing inaccuracies, or stock unavailability.
2. Cancellation and Refunds
Commune reserves the right to terminate the obligation to fulfill any order, even after confirmation and payment. In such events, Commune’s sole liability shall be a full refund of the amount paid by the customer. All refunds will be processed via the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
3. Pricing and Payment
· GST: All quoted prices are inclusive of Goods and Service Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate, unless otherwise stated.
· Payment: Online payments are restricted to credit cards or authorized digital payment gateways.
· Promotions: Unless explicitly stated, all voucher codes, bank discounts, and in-store promotions are valid for regular-prices furniture items only and cannot be combined with other offers.
4. Deliver and Risk
Our customer service associates will contact you to coordinate delivery. Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon delivery. Any visible damage must be reported to the delivery team immediately and noted on the Delivery Order.
5. Warranty and Lemon Law Compliance
In accordance with the Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (“Lemon Law”), Commune provides a warranty against manufacturing defects. If a product is proven to be defective within six months of delivery, Commune will, at its discretion, repair or replace the item. If a repair or replacement is not highly feasible or its disproportionate in cost, a partial or full refund may be issued.
6. Natural Variations and Characteristics (Non-Defects)
Furniture crafted from natural materials (e.g., solid wood, leather, marble) possesses inherent traits that are not considered manufacturing defects. The following are excluded from warranty claims:
· Wood Grain & Color: Variations in grain pattern, knots, and natural color shading are unique to each piece of timber.
· Natural Movement: Minor contraction or expansion of wood due to changes in humidity or temperature (e.g., Singapore’s tropical climate).
· Leather Traits: Natural scars, insect bites, or grain inconsistency in genuine leather hides.
· Fabric Pilling: Occasional pilling on upholstery caused by external friction or fiber shedding, which can be managed with a fabric shaver and does not affect the structural integrity of the piece.
7. Specific Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
· Wear and Tear: Fading from direct sunlight, softening of foam/cushions over time, or scratched from daily use.
· Misuse: Damages caused by improper cleaning chemicals, overloading, or unauthorized alterations.
· “As-Is” / Clearance Items: Products sold as display sets or with declared faults are sold “As-Is” and are strictly non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
8. Exchange and Return Process
· Reporting: All claims must be submitted with photographic evidence and the original Sales Order within 7 days of discovering the issue.
· Condition: Items approved for exchange must be in their original condition. Hygiene-sensitive items (e.g., mattresses, pillows) cannot be exchanged once the original packaging is opened.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Commune shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or the cancellation of an order.
